Definitely, Maybe is a 2008 romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Adam Brooks, and starring Ryan Reynolds, Isla Fisher, Rachel Weisz, Elizabeth Banks, Abigail Breslin, and Kevin Kline. Set in New York City during the 1990s, the film is about a political consultant who tries to help his eleven-year-old daughter understand his impending divorce by telling her the story of his past romantic relationships and how he ended up marrying her mother. The film grossed $55 million worldwide.
Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds), a thirtysomething Manhattanite, is in the middle of divorce proceedings when his young daughter (Abigail Breslin) asks him about his life before marriage, including how he met and fell in love with her mother. Will flashes back to 1992 and recounts his romances with three women, changing their names so that his daughter must guess which one became his wife.
A real good quality blend of romance and drama. The acting presented by Ryan Reynolds and Abigail Breslin is beautiful and require some appreciation. One of the main attraction of the movie is the way in which the director is telling the story. It is portrayed as a bed time story where the dad tells his daughter all about his life giving the daughter an opportunity to make an opinion on her own. It is very realistic and intriguing that will easily get your attention. If you want to choose a feel good movie that you can spend your Sunday evenings on then this suits the occasion.
