P.S. I Love You is a 2007 American romance film directed by Richard LaGravenese. The screenplay by LaGravenese and Steven Rogers is based on the 2004 novel of the same name by Cecelia Ahern. It stars Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Lisa Kudrow, Gina Gershon, James Marsters, Harry Connick Jr. and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. It was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and Momentum Pictures.

When Gerry (Gerard Butler), the husband of Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank), dies from an illness, she loses the love of her life. Knowing how hard Holly will take his death, Gerry plans ahead. Beginning on her 30th birthday, she receives the first in a series of letters written by him, designed to ease her grief and encourage her to move forward to a new life.

A good attempt in the rendering of a really beautiful romantic story with a mix of emotions , love and hope . Rather than detailing with the living relational values and emotions of a couple, the director shifted the focus of the story towards showing how their love strengthened even after the death of her husband. I will say this is quite a new approach of presenting the real love in a relation. Here the husband is molding her wife to cope up with a life without him in it and also helping her find true self. I am not sure if this happens in real life or not , but I loved watching it .
