A Good Year is a 2006 British-American romantic comedy directed and produced by Ridley Scott. The film stars Russell Crowe, Marion Cotillard, Didier Bourdon, Abbie Cornish, Tom Hollander, Freddie Highmore and Albert Finney. The film is loosely based on the 2004 novel of the same name by British author Peter Mayle. The film was theatrically released in the United Kingdom on 27 October 2006 and in the United States on 10 November 2006 by 20th Century Fox. The film grossed over $42.1 million against its $35 million budget. The film received nominations for the Critics Choice Award for Best Young Actor and the Satellite Award for Best Cinematography. A Good Year was released on DVD on 27 February 2007 by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Failed London banker Max Skinner (Russell Crowe) inherits his uncle's (Albert Finney) vineyard in Provence, where he spent many childhood holidays. Upon his arrival, he meets a woman from California who tells Max she is his long-lost cousin and that the property is hers.

An elegant performance flick of Russell Crowe. It is one of my favorite movie in the genre of romance, comedy and philosophy. The background music sync in with the natural flow of the movie. The acting and the direction is outstanding and commendable. The locations chosen for the movie is really beautiful and catch your attention. The supporting cast is pretty descent and have presented a really good acting. Most of the dialogues are thought evoking and the movie is simple and beautiful. As the New York times said, it is a 3 P movie: Pleasant,pretty and predictable.
